Traffic Signal Control System (VATMS-1000) controls the traffic signal cycle and signal system real-time depending on the traffic situation to ensure smooth traffic flow at the intersection of the highways. Real-time information required for traffic signal control is obtained from the vehicle presence detecting apparatus installed at the intersections, and the information is processed at the control center or local control station to produce optimal variables, thus serving the purpose of an intelligent traffic system (ITS)
